Zest Women – WPSL


San Diego Zest Women will make their debut in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) starting with the 2018 Season. Zest Women was created to develop an even stronger Zest FC team that competes in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Most of all, Zest Women strives to field the strongest possible teams for all three clubs: Zest FC, Zest 2, and Zest Women in any league or tournament they are competing in.


The San Diego Zest Women was established to begin WPSL competition in the the 2018 season. They are an an extension of their their parent team (San Diego Zest FC)  of the USL PDL and their brother team (Zest 2) which were all established under an international sports management company called San Diego Sports Authority, hereafter SDSA, located at San Diego, CA. The project was started in 2014 with aim of developing the local community soccer level and providing Japanese soccer players the path to pro in the U.S. On May 22nd, 2017, the Women’s Premier Soccer League announced that it had awarded the franchise to San Diego Zest Women. There are currently two other WPSL teams playing in San Diego (the SeaLions and LA Galaxy-San Diego) who play in the WPSL PacSouth Division. While the location has yet to be announced, SD Zest Women’s team is expected to play play in the same division alongside fellow San Diego teams LA Galaxy-San Diego and the SeaLions WFC.
