Do you have family in soccer or other sports who inspired you?
“Ever since I was a little kid all I have done is play soccer and that has always been my life. My family is a soccer family too so it runs in my family. Just by watching professionals play and see how hard they try by leaving everything on the field is what really inspired me to continue to get better”.
Who is your favorite soccer player?
“Neymar has always been my favorite player just because I have been following him since he started at Santos. He really motivated me with his effort and with what a great player he has become in such a short time”.
Are there any teams nationally or internationally that you follow?
“Barcelona is the team that I follow. The way they play is just amazing and I enjoy watching them play”.
Is soccer always what you wanted to do or did you consider any other sports?
“Since the moment I started playing I just knew soccer was the sport for me. No other sport can compare to how much I love playing this sport but also how this sport makes me feel…there’s just no way to describe it”.
What is on the horizon in terms of your future?
“I hope to major as an athletic trainer because I just want to continue the route of staying involved with sports and specifically with soccer”.
What about long-term aspirations?
“My long-term career aspiration is to play at the highest level of soccer possible meaning professional soccer”.
What do you expect this season playing with the Zest this season?
“I expect this season with Zest to be a very challenging and competitive season which is what I like. Also a very successful one because, with hard work and perseverance, everything is possible.
What advice can you give a young and aspiring soccer players?
“The advice that I would give is to stay focused on what you want to do and listen to your coaches. Also to always work hard and leave everything on the field”.
Have you played or would like to play any other position on the field?
“I can play any position on the midfield or as a forward although I do prefer playing more as a center mid or attacking midfielder. I prefer to have the ball and do creative things with it”.
What have been the biggest obstacles you’ve had to deal with?
“The biggest obstacles that I had to overcome are definitely not being able to play for months due to injuries. It’s just not the same watching a game from the bench instead of been on the field”.
How has your technique changed or improved?
“As I have gotten older I’ve improved on being smarter when having control of the ball and making the right passes. Also my vision of the game in regards to choosing the right plays has improved”.
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time?
“I spend most of my spare time playing FIFA and hanging out with friends”.
