San Diego Zest FC would like to announce its new ownership of Montenegro soccer club, FK Adria, launched and started competing in the Montenegrin Third League in the 2017-2018 season.

The Montenegrin Third League is at the bottom of the three-league soccer pyramid in Montenegro. 23 teams currently participate in this league, divided into three regions, with the top team from each region qualifying for the playoffs in order to see who gets promoted to the Montenegrin Second League. The Regional Football Associations (Northern Region, Central Region, Southern Region) heads the Third League within the Football Association of Montenegro.

The country of Montenegro was formed as a country after declaring its independence from Serbia and Montenegro in 2006, which had been previously formed after the country of Yugoslavia disbanded in 1992.

Chase Yamauchi, the owner of San Diego Zest FC, possesses high hopes for FK Adria.

“I expect this team to play with a passion that matches that of teams who have been in the league for years”, said Yamauchi. “We will have players who not only love the sport but also know how to conduct themselves outside the playing field”.

The league itself falls under the auspices of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations).

FK Adria, named after the Adriatic Sea, has a mission to groom people to be successful individuals, even after their playing careers have ended, at the international level by implementing a vision that includes what the team calls “character-building through soccer”.

FK Adria’s General Manager, Takafumi Osako, states his vision for his new club.

“I believe that the players who compete for FK Adria will be surrounded by personnel staff involved in building a world-wide bridge for the future of all our players”, said Osako. “Everyone only lives once and it’s always crucial for development to continue. In other words, to move one step forward rather than to exclusively think about success and failure”.

FK Adria strives to have enough success to eventually compete in the UEFA Champions League.

FK Adria’s website will be published in a few weeks. Please check it out to hear all news and updates regarding its club.
